I bought these as a gift, but am going to order a string for myself, they're so beautiful. The online description did not mention that they're made from real leaves - the product box explains they are a sustainable industry for the people producing them, encouraging them NOT to harvest trees for money. The instructions also say to mist them before use to make them open up, but I'd be inclined to leave them as they are because they're so pretty. I just worry that, being they're made from real leaves, that the heat from the light bulbs will eventually cause the leaves to disintegrate...time will tell.
