I bought this for my six year old and think it would have been awesome if we were city dwellers. We live in the country and so the children play outside a lot and collect the type of wood that is in this set from our own wood pile. I am not saying the toy is not "good" it is was just not a new concept for our kids. Plus, the bark came off a few pieces. If your kiddos never get to pick up sticks and play in the country - buy it.

This was a Christmas gift for my 7 year old daughter. She loves them. My 11 yr. old daughter plays with them, too, when they play together. They are a lot of fun because they can be turned into a forest of varying shapes and sizes, depending on her imagination. My 3 year old son loves them too, but the problem is that he picks at any part where the bark is a little lifted from the wood piece. Now there are quite a few missing bark in places. These are great for children over 6, I would say, but not so much for 3 year old boys.
