What's a geode? It's a geological rock formation that contains a cavity lined with crystals. The most common "find" inside a geode is clear quartz crystals, but some have colored crystals. There's no way to tell what's inside a geode until you break it apart-but that's the most exciting part!
Kit includes 10 geodes in assorted sizes, instructions for safely breaking the geodes, and educational information.

Comments about Product:Gift for our 5 yr old. He loves rocks,crystals- anything from nature, so we thought it would be engaging and fun. Turns out the hammer was the best part for him. The geodes were small (golfball size) and very hard to break open, so much so that when they broke, it was into small pieces. Hard to find crystals if any. The bonus is that there are enough geodes that everyone gets a turn at it:)

Comments about Product:Geodes rocks: Before hammering put in rag/ something you do not plan to keep. Some rocks shattered completely, most in more then two sides. All white nothing really pretty inside. Hard to break for both children and adults. Best outside on hard surface. Still interesting for kids that like geodes and rocks.

typical geodes, but a little small.
Comments about Product:These are your typical geodes - not too much to say about geodes! But the geodes in this kit are quite small, so they are not very exciting. My kids enjoyed the bigger ones I bought individually, more than these little guys.
