This is a beautifully made doll and the clothes are also well made. The dress is unlike the catalog picture slightly in style and the fabric is a bright green instead of a cute print as illustrated. I would like to have patterns to make more clothes.I hope my granddaughter likes it.

Beautiful doll but it is much smaller than appears in the catalog! The hair is not as pictured and the dress I received is not floral. I think the baby doll (18 inch) is a better bargain for your dollar and I will probably exchange mine. Too bad!

I have been buying one of these dolls for my daughter each Christmas for the last five years. She cherishes these dolls. My dear daughter is now 11 and she still plays quietly in her room with these dolls while all the plastic ones sit in a bin in her closet. Over the last five years she has spent countless hours playing with these beautiful, well-made, all natural dolls. She keeps them on display in her room and takes them down when she wants to play. I must say I take them down myself sometimes just to hold them.

The first Waldorf doll I had was made from a kit, before I was born. This was 1981. I still have that doll, Sarah. I even have the original flannel dress. While I agree somewhat about fabric being difficult to clean, I never loved my Sarah any less for being a tad dirty. I also own three Waldorf dolls that I have been given or purchased over the years, two of which I am passing on to our new baby. There could be no better doll for a child. Most of my early memories include Sarah by my side.

This doll had hair very different from what is pictured. The hair in the catalog and online is a light brown with curls. The actual doll has dark brown hair that has some curly loops on the yarn strand. The doll is very cute and well made.

I have Gretchen. I bought her for myself. I am now 50. (cant believe that!)

i could not ask for a better hand made doll. (I also make dolls) her wardrobe is quite extensive. Very easy to make new dresses.

Gretchen is mine right now, but one day, hopefully, someone will have much fun with my baby & her clothes.

Doll's dress did not button at neck. Neck opening too small for doll's neck. Received doll and noticed top dress snap pulled out of fabric from improper fit. Returned doll. Replacement doll showed exact same problem. Big disappointment from this German company that prides itself on quality. Doll was perfect, but dress did not fit doll around neckline. Would have returned second doll but could not disappoint child. Too much money for such poor quality.
