I have 3 year old twins. Hint...don't let your kids near each other when playing with this...they will entangle! My daughter LOVES it and asks for it all the time...but try as I might, you cannot keep it from knotting....if it were shorter, perhaps with several strands, it may work better.

I use these in group lessons for violin players. They are a beautiful way to visualize bow patterns and always a lot of fun.
They do get knots and will wear out at the tip but the beauty of the silks more than compensates for this.
A shorter wand and streamer for the smaller children would be helpful (2/3 size).

I love how durable it is my daughter has literally tied it to things and then jumped on it! The only problem is the length, it is super long so its difficult for her to use it for how it was meant to be used which is dancing. Might consider the shorter one for under age 4.

I bought all three for our two grandchildren, 4 & 2. They waved them in circles and figure eights. They hung them from the deck as flags. They ran through the yard as "the motorcycle leading the parade." In spite of her short little arms, even the tiny 2 year old could use and enjoy these delightful streamers!

Even my adult children joined in the fun. The rainbow wands with the "ball" tip work better than the blue ones with the "star". The ribbon gets caught on the star more easily.

Bought two of these for my girls. Very pretty when used properly, but they get knots in them a LOT! Also, my kids broke the stick in half on one of them, which I then sawed clean and sanded - it's still usable. They got them at Christmas and by March the silk was ripping at the attachment point. I do not think they were being overly rough with them, so I think they must be made more for older,"careful" children.

My daughter loves to dance with this. Unfortunately, the ribbon started to become detached from the wand after a short period of time. This toy will not last long.

My five year old loves to use this while she listens to her CDs and dances around the room. She's had it for five months now, and is still coming up with new ways to move it around!

I bought this for my older daughter (now 6) about 3 years ago, and she still plays with it-- she runs around the house in circles and lets it flow behind her. Very cute. It is one of the toys in our home that has endured and not lost its luster. We did have to buy a replacement after she stepped on it so many times that the silk began tearing away from the wand (which is the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars). We have bought several for friends' birthdays also.
