We've collected a lot of play food over the years and these are by far the most popular with both kids. They just looks so nice and feel so good in the hands, plus kids love boxes of small things. We have chocolates/cookies/peas and carrots/and bear "vitamins." Yes, they are small but that adds to their charm. My 2 year old (carefully supervised) loves them as well.
