My "child" is 16 now... I purchased these nearly a decade ago, thinking they were sooo expensive, but wanting to try a "different" sort of toy- One that might hold her attention longer than a week. Nearly 10 years later, & she is still "playing" with them... Over the years, these incredible, 3-ft. large squares of pure breezy silk, have transformed into butterfly wings, fairy princesses, pirates, forts (when tied onto table/chair legs), headbands, skirts, entire dresses (w/a safety pin), Roman Toga's, Shiek veils, flags, capes, princess & villains costumes, batman, used nearly every year in Halloween costumes & school plays, etc... Every time her little friends came over to play, they all went 1st for these silkies. Thrown into the "dress up basket" for storage (on those rare occasions we cleaned up!). Sometimes getting juice, kethcup, or Mom's make-up on them- Always easily washed/dryed in the regular laundry (I used a lingerie bag). These are by FAR the absolute best investment EVER- Uses limited only by your child's imagination. Recently, I've been asking my "grown up" daughter if she's ready to let these go... "No Mom, I still play with them!". I always think of these like the large cardboard box that expensive toys come in, where your kids play with the box, for far longer than the costly toy that came in it. These silks are very colorful, breezy- My daughter was just enchanted by the lightweight breeziness of the silk fabric. If you are on the fence, like I was, thinking how "costly" these are- I suggest just go ahead & try them... If nothing else, your kids will be enchanted w/ the silky, breezy texture of these silks, on their skin &/or dancing in the wind (tied to a stick)! My only regret it not buying them even earlier- These can be enjoyed by babies of all ages (under supervision of course!)- Happy holidays- Enjoy! My 2 boys - ages 9 and 12! - have played with these more than any item in our home. We have had them for many years, and they still fight over them. I can't think of anything they HAVEN'T used them for - dressing up as anything and everything, wrapping packages, hanging them to make backdrops for putting on shows, props for magic shows. My 9-year-old sleeps with them now, insisting that they keep him warm. I came back to order some more. There is no limit to the creativity they inspire.

These scarves seemed pricey, but I ordered them last Christmas. At first my girls did not know what to make of them, but once I showed them a few ideas their imaginations took off. Now almost a year later, the girls still pick these scarves as some of the first props during play. We lost one traveling and they still mourn the loss. The quality is outstanding. I have not tried to wash them, because I have not had a reason to try.

Within minutes of the end of the birthday gift opening extravaganza, all of the other toys lay on the floor, forgotten, while my sons (2 and 5) used these silks to have the family dress up as pirates. I hesitated on these, because I have only boys and they seemed girly, but my sons love them.

My kids have used these regularly starting at age 2 and continuing now that my daughter is 9. When my kids were 3 and 6, they played with them every single day. They love them and find so many uses for them! I'm buying them for my niece and nephew now -- 2 colors for a birthday present and 2 colors at Christmas to spread out the cost. My kids have 5 scarves of different colors, and they've really enjoyed having that number. They're wonderfully durable, but don't tie the scarves extremely tightly or you'll damage the weave. These are great!

I can't imagine raising a girl without these playsilks. They have been used by my daughters almost everyday for years and years. My 11 year old, who has had them her entire life, now actually wears them as scarves to accessorize her colorful outfits. After over a decade of use, they still look good enough to wear out of the house. We have the whole set (beacause you never know what color you might need!) and we have used them to decorate at Christmas and for parties (throw them over the curtain rod for a stunning rainbow effect!), to build forts, as costumes, accesories, table decor, doll and stuffed animal clothing, to simulate a camp fire or an ocean...the list could go on and on. They are sturdy yet very soft, and all the colors are exquisite. They are easy to pack for traveling as they take up almost no space, are perfect for airplane rides or in the car. If I could only buy my daughter one store bought toy, these play silks would be it.

We adore our Playsilks from Magic Cabin! Today I gave our son his birthday present (the bath baby) in a recycled gift bag with our playsilk as the "tissue paper" (we always use them this way too). He opened the gift and scooped the baby up in his arms, hugged it, and then wrapped the playsilk around the baby. He then opened the rest of the gifts and wrapped the playsilks around himself (forgoing the baby clothes and towels!) and happily trotted off with his silk wrapped babydoll. This is just one of many days with our fabulous playsilks!

I bought these about a year ago when my daughter turned one. Although a little pricey, I figured this is the type of toy/product that would grow with her. The silks are of a nice quality. She started with hide and seek, then laying them on the ground to create multicolored stepping stones. They have been blankets for her babies and a useful tool for learning colors. I know that as dressing up becomes a greater part of her play that these will become capes and wings and skirts and head pieces and.... Overall I am very glad to have bought this item. These silks have been a great addition to our play.

The play silks are so much fun and can be used in a variety of ways for dressup for both girls and boys. They make great baby blankets for dollies and grass for fairies. My only complaints are that if they do get dirty, they are difficult to clean. They are thin, as a playsilk should be, but then I can't just toss them in the wash. And the color bleeds when they get wet. I'll still buy them, though, because they are so much fun for the kids.

I waffled for a long time before I bought these. Were they really worth it? I finally got them and I'm so glad I did. My boys use them all the time for imaginative play -- wrapping themselves up like cocoons, creating super characters, dancing like rainbows, making a beaver den -- there is no limit. The silks are very well made and drape beautifully. They take up next to no space in our very small toy cupboard, too. Like unit blocks, these are a toy that children find endless uses for.

My daughter regularly adds these to an outfit to do a "dinner dance" or creates little beds for her babies with them. She's even laid them out on the floor to create a "landscape" of flowers over grass with the sky above. Great for creative & imaginative play!

My children love playsilks for different reasons. My daughter uses them for dress-up, my son uses them for props. This is a beautiful, large silk that is very well-constructed. Nice thickness; not too thick or too thin. Nice coloring!
