Young camping fans and outdoor enthusiasts will discover a wealth of fun activities, adventures, advice and recipes in this series of easy-to-read nature books written especially for children ages 6-10.

Trekking on a Trail shows children how their own two feet can take them on some pretty amazing adventures. It provides basic hiking information such as what supplies they'll need, how to read maps and weather forecasts, which bugs and plants to avoid, and what to do if they get lost, as well as some simple activities.

Sleeping in a Sack is a terrific resource for kids new to camping. In a very user-friendly format, the book presents lots of ideas for planning a fun camping trip, including nature activities, games, songs. Stargazing and other activities children can do around the campsite.

Cooking on a Stick covers everything kids (and parents) need to know about campfire cookery, including what to bring along, how to build a fire, cook without pots and pans and make quick snacks for hiking and other forest excursions. Two dozen easy recipes take you from breakfast (Loony Eggs) to main dishes (Moose Kabobs) to dessert (Hibernating Bananas).

Cooking in a Can shows kids how to make breakfast in a paper bag, cook chicken in a hot rock, bake a cake underground, and cook in a hollowed-out orange, a tin can, and even a garbage can! Includes dozens of delicious yet child-friendly recipes, such as Jackrabbit Bean Burgers, Marmot Munchies and Wilderness Wonder Cake.

In Wishing on a Star, the night sky becomes an astronomy classroom as children discover how to study star maps, find constellations, hone their stargazing skills and learn the legends behind some of the constellations. Activities include making a twinkling thaumatrope, flying a starry kite, and acting in a constellation-themed Greek play.

For ages 6 to 10.

I thought I was purchasing a SET of books as the headline reads "Nature Exploration Books" but only received Cooking on a Stick. Hmmm, am I missing something? Seems a bit misleading. The book I did receive is cute though.
