For us, this toy was pointless. First there's the mallet, which my one year old simply wanted to put in her mouth (the handle end, of course), then there's the fact that it's somewhat difficult to pound the balls through, and then the fact that the glockenspiel (metal bars... a xylophone has wooden bars) doesn't follow a scale! Are you kidding me? How hard is that to do? "cheery notes", yes, but not a real musical instrument. Good grief. There are plenty of other toys to provide hand/eye coordination... perhaps even a REAL GLOCKENSPIEL.
